Microsoft downloads wont work with firefox?

i need the service pack 2 or 3 for my windows XP because i just reformatted it....the internet explorer was messing up somehow, so i downloaded firefox. but now i am trying to download the service pack 2 so i can download a trial of the 07 microsoft office. but everytime it is downloading it says server not compatible or it failed. what can i do to get the service pack??

Sounds like you may still be missing windows files, which would cause this problem. I would try a system repair, and then get the SP 2 download, don't even go about with SP 3 it's still in the testing stages.

Firefox has a good download manager.



Are you connect on a wireless? check your connection.



Maybe the hardware on your computer is defunct, why did you reformat? was there a problem?



Are you downloading from the microsoft site?
Install the firefox extension called IE Tab

when you restart Firefox, you will have a little icon in the status bar at the bottom of the browser - by clicking on it, you can switch between loading a page in Firefox or Internet Explorer - you can then go to Microsoft pages and download
just use internet explorer for downloads. even though firefox is way better ie i use for downloads.
