Microsoft word processor wont let me fill in?

i been typing a paper on Microsoft word processor on my laptop and now when i try to put words in that i forgot i go and click on where i wanna put it but it keeps erasing the letters and typing over them. It only on 1 line at a time it seems that i can only have so many letter and they wont automatically go down. How do i fix this?

You have TYPEOVER turned on - it's like NUMLOCK or CAPLOCK. You turn it on and off using the Insert key on the keyboard.
